Women's Soccer

Devils done in by Knights

GENESEO, N.Y. -- Looking to take over sole possesion of second place in the SUNYAC, Fredonia State's women's soccer was defeated by Geneseo 3-1.

The Blue Devils (8-5-3, 5-3-1 SUNYAC) received a goal from Jessica Weiser (Rochester/Greece Athena) --- her sixth of the season -- off a corner kick at 21:08 of the first half. Weiser's goal, assisted by Anita Salinas (Rochester/Greece Athena), tied things at 1-all.

Geneseo (7-5-1, 6-1-1 SUNYAC) would score two second half goals to put away the Devils.

The loss drops the Devils from second to fourth place in the conference.

Freshman goalkeeper Becky Scroger (Spencerport/Spencerport) made nine saves while surrendering all three scores.

Geneseo outshot Fredonia State 18-8.

The Devils wrap up the conference portion of their schedule with a 3 p.m. road game at Buffalo State.
