Devils blank St. John Fisher

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Fredonia State junior goalkeeper Becky Scroger (Spencerport) broke the school record for career shutouts in a 2-0 road win Tuesday over St. John Fisher.

Scroger made seven saves en route her third shutout of the season and her 16th as a Blue Devil, one more than Brianna Falvey, who posted 15 shutouts over four seasons (2001-04). It was also the 54th career victory for head coach Chris Case, who became the all-time winningest Fredonia State women's soccer coach last Saturday.

Goals by junior defender Maggie McEntee (Spencerport) and sophomore forward Lauren Heilweil (Binghamton/Chenango Forks) accounted for the scoring against St. John Fisher. The Blue Devils improved to 5-5-1 with their fourth straight win.

The loss dropped St. John Fisher to 2-6-1.

Next up for Fredonia State are SUNYAC road games later this week -- at Oswego at 4 p.m. Fruday, at Cortland 1 p.m. Saturday.
