Petraglia, a senior forward, scored on the rebound after Fredonia State goalkeeper Becky Scroger (Spencerport/Spencerport) stopped a shot by junior defender Melissa Santriello (Fairport/Fairport). It was Petraglia's sixth goal of the season. The official time of the goal was 60:53. Geneseo junior goalkeeper Laura Castor (North Ross/North Ross-Wolcott) made eight saves to post the shutout. Scroger was credited with 10 stops. The field was extremely muddy, and the best offensive chances by both teams came at the muddier end of the field. The Blue Devils (9-6-1, 6-3-0 SUNYAC) attacked repeatedly in the first half, while the Blue Knights (6-4-1, 6-2-1 SUNYAC) had the better of it in the second half. The loss dropped the Blue Devils into fifth place in the SUNYAC standings with one conference game remaining, a 1 p.m. home match Saturday vs. Brockport. Geneseo moved into third place with the win.
