Late goals trip Devils

CORTLAND, N.Y. -- Fredonia State scored its lone goal early in the game. Cortland scored twice late for a 2-1 SUNYAC home win.

Sophomore midfielder Lisa Curtis (Rochester/Greece Arcadia) put the Blue Devils on top, 1-0, with her third goal of the season at 4:49. Taking a pass from freshman forward Julie LaPolla (Penfield) 20 yards out, Curtis one-timed her shot into the upper right corner.

With freshman Molly Bojanek (Williamsville/Williamsville East) in net, the Blue Devils (5-6-2, 2-3-2 SUNYAC) held the lead until the 80th minute. That's when Cortland's Mandy Womelsdorf settled a cross pass from Kayla Sweet and fired a shot off Bojanek and into the net for a 1-1 tie.

Katie Trivisonno scored the game-winner with 3:13 left. Following a pass from Andrea Marino, Trivisonno dribbled through the Devil defense and scored into the upper right corner.

Cortland improved to 6-5-1, 5-1-1 SUNYAC.

Fredonia State plays its next four games at University Stadium, starting with a Friday visit from Plattsburgh.
