Pricola, a senior forward, provided the only goal -- her second of the season -- in the 1-0 victory by the Blue Devils (7-4-2, 4-2-0 SUNYAC) when she skidded a shot off the wet grass into the net from 25 yards away with 2:53 left in the first overtime. Freshman goalkeeper Becky Scroger (Spencerport/Spencerport) made four saves for her fourth shutout of the season and her second in a row. Senior forward Jessica Weiser (Rochester/Greece Athena) set up the game-winning goal when she shuffled a short pass onto Pricola's right foot in the center of the field. Pricola pivoted and quickly shot with her left foot. The ball skidded hard and low to the left of Plattsburgh goalkeeper freshman goalkeeper Sara LaRoche (Garden City/Garden City), and deflected off LaRoche into the net. The assist by Weiser resulted in her team-high 12th point this season and the 66th point as a collegian. She is the all-time Fredonia State scoring leader. LaRoche finished with two saves from among the 11 shots Fredonia State took. The Blue Devils held a 6-4 advantage in corner kicks. The win was the second straight 1-0 SUNYAC victory by the Blue Devils (they defeated Oswego in double-overtime Oct. 1) and was the first win over Plattsburgh after losing the previous 10 meetings between the schools. The loss dropped the Cardinals to 6-5-1 overall, 2-4-0 in SUNYAC. The game was played in a steady rain and a crosswind. Fredonia State is back at home 1 p.m. Saturday for a SUNYAC game vs. Potsdam.
