Oneonta took charge with its first goal 10:35 into the game. Senior Patricia Jaeger collected a ball inside the box, turned and put it by Blue Devil's goalkeeper Becky Scroger (Spencerport/Spencerport). Jaeger was unassisted. It was her 17th goal of the season, tying her for second in the Oneonta State record books for goals in a year. A second Oneonta goal at 28:20, this one by Mary Velan -- her 15th score of the season -- made it 2-0. Velan was assisted by Christina Santoriello. The Red Dragons would add two more scores in the second half. In the 57th minute, Christina Marra gained control of a ball following a corner kick and sent it home. Laura Pierino capped the scoring at in the 69th minute from an assist by Marra. Oneonta, a perfect 10-0 in SUNYAC play during the regular season, dominated the game. They outshot the Devils 22-2. Both of Fredonia State's shots came from Linsay Kulas (Rochester/Aquinas). > The Blue Devils best chance of the day came late in the second half when Kulas gained control of the ball inside the box with two and a half minutes left in the game. Kulas was able to get a shot off, however it sailed just high of the goal as Oneonta preserved the shutout. Scroger made six saves in goal and allowed all four scores. Oneonta used two goalkeepers -- Laura Marcone (74:04) and Jeannine Marra (15:56) -- that did not receive any shots on goal. Oneonta also held an 8-2 advantage in corner kicks. The Devils complete their season at 10-6-4. Oneonta, now 18-2-1, will play in the SUNYAC Championship Saturday at 11:00 a.m. In the other semi-final game, Cortland defeated Geneseo 2-1 in double-overtime. The Red Dragons advance to the league finals for the second straight year. Kayla Sweet scored the game-winning goal 7:01 into overtime. Kelsey Geary tied the game with 18:28 left in regulation.
