Borcyk nets all three in win at SUNYIT

UTICA, N.Y. -- Sophomore midfielder Jacki Borcyk (Rochester/Greece Odyssey) scored all three goals in Fredonia State's 3-1 conference win Tuesday over SUNYIT.

Borcyk broke a scoreless tie just before halftime, assisted by freshman forward Lauren Heilweil (Binghamton/Chenango Forks).

SUNYIT tied the score, 1-1, on a breakaway goal by Brittany Aversa in the 54th minute.

Borcyk's last two goals were unassisted. Her game-winner came in the 60th minute, followed by an insurance goal with 11:52 remaining. The three goals gives her a team-high five this season.

The win was the sixth straight for the Blue Devils (6-2-0, 3-0-0 SUNYAC). Sophomore goalkeeper Becky Scroger (Spencerport/Spencerport) has been in net for all eight games. She made one save Tuesday.

The loss dropped the Wildcats to 1-7 overall, 0-3 in the conference.
