Oneonta extends streak vs. stubborn Devils

ONEONTA, N.Y. -- After a scoreless first half, Oneonta scored three times in the second half to extend their SUNYAC unbeaten streak to 98 games with a 3-0 home victory over Fredonia State.

The Blue Devils (1-5-1, 0-2-1 SUNYAC) were credited with just one shot in the game but still managed to hold their own against the No. 15 team in the nation. The Red Dragons (6-1-0, 3-0-0) are the pick of conference coaches to win the SUNYAC title this fall.

"We didn't get a shot (on goal)," Fredonia State head coach Chris Case said, "but we still very organized and frustrated Oneonta a little bit. We played much better today."

Despite allowing all three goals, freshman Molly Bojanek (Williamsville/Williamsville East) shined in net for the Blue Devils. She was credited with nine saves in her first collegiate start.

The Blue Devils are at home 7 p.m. Tuesday vs. Elmira at University Stadium. It's the first home night game in the history of the women's soccer program.
