A first-half goal by junior defender Danielle Bleecker (Pittsford/Pittford-Mendon) was all the scoring needed by the Blue Devils (2-2-0). Her long, arcing shot from about 45 yards out backed Behrend goalkeeper Beth Lacy (Erie, Pa./Harborcreek) into the net. Lacy jumped for the ball but it glanced off her hands into the top of the net. Sophomore midfielder Jacki Borcyk (Rochester/Greece Odyssey) added an insurance goal in the second half. Her sliding shot was set up by a short crossing pass from freshman defender Dominique Rupert (Holley/Holley), who a goal in the Blue Devils' 3-0 win Friday over Hiram. The Blue Devils outshot the Lions (1-1-0) by 29-18 with Lacy making 18 saves, including a stop of a penalty kick. Fredonia State sophomore Becky Scroger (Spencerport/Spencerport) posted her second straight shutout with seven saves. Rupert was selected most valuable player of the tournament while Bleecker, senior defender Jessica Poliseno (Lakeview/Frontier), and junior midfielder Linsay Kulas (Rochester/Aquinas Institute) were selected to the all-tournament team. For Behrend, all-tourney selections were Kayla Frost (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township), Cassie Berlin (Cranberry, Pa./Seneca Valley), and Katie Ritchey (Butler, Pa./Butler). In the consolation game, Mount Union's Brittany Huebler (Cleveland, Ohio/Padua) scored early in overtime to lift the Raiders (1-3-0) to a 2-1 victory over the Hiram Terriers (1-3-0). Ashley Shea-Sutton (Salem, Ohio) scored the equalizing goal for Mount Union in the second half after Hirma took a 1-0 lead on a first-half goal by Lauren Manfrass (Garrettsville, Ohio/Walsh Jesuit). Huebler and Cortney Frederick (Vermillion, Ohio) made the all-tournament team from Mount Union, Manfrass and Hali Stamets (Cuyohoga Falls, Ohio/Archbishop Hoban) from Hiram.
