Devils play scoreless tie

GORHAM, Maine – Fredonia State and Southern Maine played a 0-0 tie Sunday on the second day of the Southern Maine Invitational

The Blue Devils (1-1-1) outshot the host team, 11-10, and turned aside seven corner kicks. Fredonia State had five corner kicks.

Senior goalkeeper Brianna Falvey (Chittenango/Chittenango) made four saves.

Southern Maine goalkeeper Marcy Ansley had three saves and got some help from her defense which cleared two balls off the line.

Southern Maine had an apparent game-winning goal disallowed in overtime because of a foul in the box on the play.

The Blue Devils return to action Tuesday at Roberts Wesleyan.
