Women's Soccer
Team washes cars as cancer fundraiser
FREDONIA, N.Y. – Members of the Fredonia State women's soccer team held a car wash fundraiser Sunday, Oct. 3, at the Fredonia Wal-Mart.
The women raised $783.44 and donated the proceeds toward breast cancer research. "We have athletes on our team," women's head coach Chris Case said, "whose moms have this illness and figured this would be a great way to give back to the community." Case said community response to the fundrasier was outstanding. "The turn-out was fantastic," he said. "Community members really came through and helped out a great cause." The car wash was held only a few hours after the women returned from a weekend road trip to Cortland and Oswego. They are back on the road this weekend with games Friday (at Plattsburgh) and Saturday (at Potsdam).Athletics Home | Fredonia Home
