Plattsburgh shuts out Blue Devils

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – Plattsburgh State sophomore Deanna Cipoletti (Commack, NY/Commack) picked up the rebound off a deflected shot and sent home the only goal of the game as Plattsburgh defeated Fredonia, 1-0, in a State University of New York Athletic Conference game Friday in Plattsburgh.

The Cardinals (9-3-0, 5-1-0 SUNYAC) held a 16-2 shot advantage in the game but were only able to get past Fredonia senior Brianna Falvey (Chittenango/Chittenango) once. Falvey finished with six saves for the Blue Devils (6-5-2, 2-3-1 SUNYAC). Plattsburgh's Joia Aliperti (Commack, NY/Commack) had one save as she recorded her sixth shutout of the season.

Plattsburgh also held an 8-1 advantage in corner kicks but committed 12 fouls to Fredonia's six.

Fredonia State plays at Potsdam Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
