Sponholz earns second All-America distinction

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- Fredonia State freshman Kelly Sponholz (Alden/Alden) earned her second honorable mention All-America distinction Saturday in the 3-meter springboard diving competition at the NCAA Division III Women's Swimming and Diving Championships.
Sponholz scored 377.50 points for 11 dives during two rounds of preliminaries. She was 14th in the field of 22 competitors. Divers finishing in places nine through 16 received honorable mention All-American status.
Earlier in the meet, Sponholz finished 11th in the 1-meter springboard competition.
The meet was held at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center in Minneapolis. Carleton College was the host school.
