Daigler stays unbeaten in singles

BROCKPORT, N.Y. -- Fredonia State ended its regular season Tuesday with an 8-1 loss to Brockport.

The Blue Devils (3-9) extended their opponents in several matches, but only freshman Elise Daigler (North Tonawanda/North Tonawanda) broke throuugh for a win. Daigler was victorious at No. 5 singles to improve to 7-0 in singles competition during the regular season.

In addition, sophomore Brittany Pagano (Silver Creek/Nequa Valley. Ill) went deep into her No. 1 singles matches, freshman Sierra Summerville (Mexico/Mexico) lost in a tiebreaker at No. 4 singles, and the No. 3 doubles team of junior Ellen Engel (Rochester/Irondequoit) and sophomore Amy Sacca (Saratoga Springs/Saratoga Springs) also fell in a tiebreaker.

Next action for both teams is the SUNYAC Championships this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at the Eastside Racquet Club in Syracuse.
