Women's Tennis

Season opening loss

FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State tennis team opened its season with an 8-1 loss to Geneseo.

The No. 2 doubles team of Elise Daigler (North Tonawanda/North Tonawanda) and Sierra Summerville (Mexico/Mexico) earned the lone win for the Devils, a 9-8 (7-5) victory. The No. 3 double tandem of Amy Sacca (Saratoga Springs/Saratoga Springs) and Mallory Long (Canandaigua/Canandaigua) had a strong effort, narrowly losing 8-6.

The team travels to Erie, Pa. next Saturday for the Penn State Behrend Invitational.
