Fisher sweeps Fredonia State

FREDONIA, N.Y. -- A near-win by the doubles team of sophomores Elise Daigler (North Tonawanda/North Tonawanda) and Sierra Summerville (Mexico/Mexico) was as close as Fredonia State got to earning a point Monday in a 9-0 home loss to St. John Fisher.

Daigler and Summerville were defeated 8-6 in the No. 2 doubles slot. In addition, freshman Megan Zarzycki (Rochester/Irondequoit) was defeated for the first time this season at the No. 6 singles slot. She was 5-0 before Monday.

Doubles -- 1st: Hale/Griffin (SJF) d. Pagano/Holla, 8-2; 2nd: Griffin/Kaucher (SJF) d. Daigler/Summerville, 8-6; 3rd: Barlow/Hughes (SJF) d. Ellen Engel/Mallory Long, 8-2.
