Women's Tennis

Lakers cruise in win over Blue Devils

FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Oswego State women's tennis team defeated Fredonia 8-1 on Saturday in Oswego. The Lakers won all positions other than first singles and improved to 5-4 in dual-matches this year. With five wins, the Lakers have already surpassed last year's win total.

Brittany Pagano (Silver Creek/Nequa Valley, Ill.) earned the lone point for the Blue Devils (2-7). Competing in first singles, Pagano, a senior, defeated Sarahjean Marhone, 6-2, 6-3. It was Pagano's first singles win of the season.

The Blue Devils have one scheduled dual match remaining, 4 p.m. Tuesday at Brockport.
