The Devils opened up with a 4-1 loss to Behrend, followed by a 3-2 loss to Alfred, before closing out with a 4-1 team victory over Bethany. Each member of the team won at least one match on the day. Freshman Megan Zarzycki (Rochester/Irondequoit) won two singles matches -- a 9-7 win versus Alfred and an 8-2 win against Bethany. Junior Brittany Pagano (Silver Creek/Nequa Valley, Ill.), junior Marie Holla (Wellsville/Wellsville) and freshman Michelle Kuznicki (Hamburg/Cheektowaga) each won singles matches in the team victory over Bethany. Pagano claimed an 8-1 victory in the first singles slot. Holla and Kuznicki were both 8-2 victors. Doubles winners were senior Ellen Engel (Rochester/Irondequoit) and junior Amy Sacca (Saratoga Springs/Saratoga Spring) with an 8-6 decision over Penn State Behrend, and sophomore Elise Daigler (North Tonawanda/North Tonawanda) and Sierra Summerville (Mexico/Mexico), 8-1 winners versus Alfred. All matches were played at the Chautauqua Tennis Center.
