Women's Indoor Track and Field

Several top-three finishes at B-W meet

BEREA, Ohio -- Fredonia State women finished in the top three in nine events Friday during the Baldwin-Wallace Mid-February Invitational.

Four of those finishes were wins.

Freshman Trisha Ippolito (Angola/Lake Shore) won the 1,000 meters in 3:13.87, junior Aimee Milks (Binghamton/Chenango Valley) won the 500 meters (1:22.10), and her twin sister Stephanie Milks (Binghamton/Chenango Valley) took the 400 meters (1:01.66) in personal-best time.

The quartet of senior Krista Morse (Freedom/Pioneer), senior Liz Schaller (Marilla/St. Mary's), sophomore Nicole Smith (Amherst/Amherst), and Stephanie Milks won the 4-by-200 relay in 1:51.35.

Sophomore Samantha Ellwood (Hamburg/Hamburg) and senior Alison Morgan (Hilton/Hilton) were second and third, respectively, in the 5,000 meters with personal-best times (Ellwood 19:51.16, and Morgan 19:51.80).

Freshman Julia Hopson (Poughkeepsie/Arlington) was second in two events, the shotput (11.73 meters) and the 20-pound weight throw (13.61 meters).

Other second-place finishes were turned in by senior Krista Morse (Freedom/Pioneer) in the 55-meter high hurdles (personal-best :09.09 seconds) and sophomore Nicole Smith (Amherst/Amherst) in the 200 meters (:28.14).
