Galvin won the event Saturday at the Slippery Rock Invitational with a throw of 149' 11". It was her best throw of the season, and just off the NCAA Division III qualifying standard. Galvin also placed in two other events. She was fourth in the discus with a season-best 126' and was seventh in the shot put (36' 9.5"). Other Blue Devil highlights from the Slippery Rock meet: Sarah Hite (Avon/Brockport) qualified for SUNYAC, NYSCTC, and ECAC meets in the 400-meter intermediate hurdles with a season-best 1:06.41. Erin Ross (Amherst/Amherst) finished sixth in the pole vault at 9'. Alison Morgan (Hilton/Hilton) 3,000-meter steeplechase in 12:55.08. Krista Morse (Freedom/Pioneer) qualified for SUNYAC in the javelin with a personal-best 95' 7". She was also sixth in the 100-meter high hurdles in :16.53. Samantha Ellwood (Hamburg/Hamburg) was second in the 5,000 meters in 21:09.9, while Jennifer Martin (Buffalo/Mt. Mercy) was second in the 10,000 meters in 43:11.20.
