Men's Cross Country

Devils second at Rochester

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The men claimed second place in the 8K race behind RIT in a three-team meet at Genesee Valley Park on Saturday afternoon.

The Devils were led by freshman Jared Newell (Queensbury/Queensbury) (27:30) and freshman Tom Williams (Queensbury/Queensbury) (27:52), who finished eighth and ninth, respectively.

Senior Kevin Buzzelli (Grand Island/Grand Island) clocked in at 28:11, good enough for 12th place.

The women's cross country team finished behind RIT and the University of Rochester.

Freshman Jessica Bennett (Rochester/West Irondeqouit) finished the 5K race second overall for the Blue Devils in a time of 19:31. Bennett was 16 seconds off the pace of RIT's Trisha Sliker.

Senior Rachel MacNamara (Lakeview/Nardin), fifth in a time of 20:17 and senior Aimee Milks (Binghamton/Chenango Forks), tenth in 20:54, were other Blue Devils in the top ten.
