In the women's 5,000-meter race, the Blue Devils placed third, fourth and fifth. Senior Morgan Burrows (Lockwood/Waverly) was third in 20:10. She was followed by sophomore Kristen Veltz (Brockport/Brockport) in 20:22 and sophomore Rachel McNamara (Lakeview/Nardin) in 20:31. The Blue Devils finished with 44 points. Rochester won the race with 33 points. RIT had 56. On the men's side, freshman Michael Pond (Somers/Somers) covered the 7,800 meters in 28:07 to finish 11th overall. He was followed by junior David Mink (Rensselaer/Columbia), who was 15th in 28:32, and freshman Jerome Evans (Rochester), 16th in 28:36. The course was shortened because of recent rains.
