Men's & Women's Cross Country

Both teams sixth at Geneseo Invitational

MOUNT MORRIS, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State cross country teams each finished sixth Saturday in their respective races of the Geneseo Invitational.

The men's team was sixth of 18 teams, the women sixth of 16 teams at Letchworth State Park.

Top finisher of the day was junior Andy Forma (Elma/St. Francis), 21st in the men's 8,000-meter race in a time of 26:43.

Rounding out the top five for the Blue Devil men were sophomore Mike Pond (Somers/Somers), 26th in 26:53; junior Jason Smith (Queensbury/Queensbury), 48th in 27:34; senior David Mink (Rensselaer/Columbia), 49th in 27:40; and junior Kevin Buzzelli (Grand Island/Grand Island), 70th in 28:18.

Junior Aimee Milks (Binghamton/Chenango Valley) was the top finisher for the Blue Devil women. She was 32nd in the race in a time of 19:51 for 5,000 meters.

Next best was junior Ashley Tramp (Buffalo/Kenmore East), 43rd in 20:08; followed by sophomore Samantha Ellwood (Hamburg/Hamburg), 53rd in 20:34; freshman Trisha Ippolito (Angola/Lake Shore), 79th in 21:20; and senior Liz Luebbe (Irondequoit/West Irondequoit), 81st in 21:22.

The Blue Devils travel to Hamilton College for their next meet next Saturday (Oct. 8).
