Tom Williams (Queensbury/Queensbury) turned in the fastest 1,500-meter leg by a Blue Devil of 4:39, followed by three more legs each 4:55 or faster. Jared Newell (Queensbury/Queensbury) ran negative splits -- each leg faster than the one before -- with a 4:48 final leg. Senior Kevin Buzzelli (Grand Island/Grand Island) ran a 4:58 leg and joined Williams and Newell for third place in the event. In addition, sophomore Chris Walters (Tonawanda/Sweet Home) had a leg of 4:54. On the women's side, freshman Jessica Bennett (Rochester/Irondequoit) ran legs of 5:36, 5:41, and 5:46 while senior Rachel McNamara (Lakeview/Nardin) clicked off times of 5:46, 5:44, and 5:40. They teamed with junior Samantha Ellwood (Hamburg/Hamburg) for third place. Senior Aimee Milks (Binghamton/Chenango Forks) was fastest on Fredonia State's second three-runner team with 5:54 and 5:59 clockings among her three relay legs. The Blue Devils compete next Saturday at the Geneseo Invitational.
