Pond leads Devil men at SUNYACS

BROCKPORT, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State men, led by freshman Michael Pond (Somers/Somers), were eighth of 10 teams Saturday at the SUNYAC Championship meet. He covered the the 8,000 meters in 27:10.0 and finished 23rd.

Junior Jerome Evans (Rochester/Greece Olympia) was 38th (28:06.0), sophomore Jason Smith (Queensbury/Queensbury) was 55th, junior David Mink (Rensselaer/Columbia) 58th, and sophomore Kevin Buzzelli (Grand Island/Grand Island) finished 66th to round out Fredonia State's top five.

Senior Chris Mills (Auburn/Auburn) was 77th and freshman Robert Miller (Islip/Central Islip) finished 81st.

The Blue Devils will compete Nov. 6 at the New York State Collegiate Track Conference championship meet hosted by Geneseo.
