Women second at SUNYAC meet

BROCKPORT, N.Y. -- Fredonia State placed three runners in the top 15 Saturday and finished second in the women's race at the SUNYAC Championship meet at Brockport State.

Senior Morgan Burrows (Lockwood/Waverly) finished 12th overall (24:10.2 for 6,000 meters), senior Dani Pendl (Patchogue/Patchogue-Medford) was 13th (24:14.8), sophomore Kristen Veltz (Brockport/Brockport) 14th (24:16.9), and sophomore Rachel McNamara (Lakeview/Nardin) 19th (24:36.5) for the Blue Devils, who trailed only Geneseo in the team standings.

Freshman Samantha Ellwood (Hamburg/Hamburg) was 22nd in the race, two spots ahead of sophomore Ashley Tramp (Buffalo/Kenmore East). Senior Jennifer Martin (Buffalo/Mt. Mercy Academy) was 36th.

The Blue Devils will compete in the New York State Collegiate Track Conference championship meet, hosted by Geneseo, on. Nov. 6.
