Head Coach Chris Case

Chris Case is Fredonia State's all-time winningest lacrosse coach with a 35-38 record over five seasons. His teams have won eight games each of the last two seasons -- the most ever in the history of the program. His two-season coaching record is 16-15 -- the most wins over a two-season span in the 12-year history of the program.
A 2001 graduate of Fredonia State, Case was an All SUNYAC and All Region men's soccer goalkeeper for the Blue Devils. In addition, he served as team captain his junior and senior years. He remained at his alma mater and worked with former women's lacrosse and women's soccer coach Jen Goff. In 2002, Case succeeded Goff as women's soccer coach and after his second season was named 2003 SUNYAC Coach of the Year. He became head coach of women's lacrosse prior to the start of the 2003 season.
In addition to his college coaching, Case having served as a counselor at the Fairport youth soccer camp. He designed and coordinated training sessions for the Jamestown girls' soccer program and also served as a summer playground counselor for Perinton Parks and Recreation in his hometown of Fairport, N.Y.
A dean's list student and a SUNYAC All-Academic Team member at Fredonia, Case holds a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education with a math concentration. He is a 1997 Fairport graduate and earned First Team All County and First Team All Greater Rochester honors during his high school soccer career.
He and his wife, Bridget, reside in Fredonia.

Assistant Coach Jill Battaglia

Jill Battaglia joined the Fredonia State women's lacrosse coaching staff in January 2008. She is a graduate of SUNY Cortland, where she was a four-year starter at defense and midfield for head coach Cynthia Wetmore, and team captain in 2007. The Red Dragons won the SUNYAC championship and qualified for the NCAA tournament all four seasons Battaglia was on the team. The 2006 team made the NCAA semifinals.
Battaglia had 47 goals and eight assists, 147 groundballs, 108 draw controls, and caused 38 turnovers in her four collegiate seasons. As a senior, she was chosen All Region Second Team, New York State Women's Collegiate Athletic Association Third Team, and was chosen for the North-South Senior All-Star game.
Battaglia's undergraduate degree from SUNY Cortland is a bachelor of science in physical education. She has chosen Fredonia State for her graduate work. She also comes from a coaching family. Her mom, Janet, is head coach at Amherst (N.Y.) High School, from which Jill is a 2003 graduate. While there, Amherst won the Section VI title during her junior year. In addition, Jill has coached the Buffalo Wings Lacrosse Club during the summers and has assisted at numerous team practices, clinics, and tournaments.
