Head Coach Kevin M. Moore

Kevin Moore heads into his seventh season as head coach of the Blue Devils in 2006-07. An experienced bench boss, Moore is a veteran of 20-plus seasons of coaching, 19 of them as a head coach at the NCAA Division III level.

He was hired at Fredonia State before the 2001-02 school year. His coaching career began in 1983 at Pennsylvania's Mansfield University as as assistant basketball coach for three years. He then moved to Alfred University, where he was an assistant coach and assistant athletic director during the 1986-87 academic year.

In July of 1987, Moore began an eight-year engagement as head basketball coach and coordinator of physical education at Elmira College. Under his guidance, the Soaring Eagles made five post-season appearances. His 1994 team won the ECAC Upstate New York championship, and his 1995 squad appeared in the NCAA Division III tournament.

Moore left Elmira in July 1995 to take over at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Va. He generaled the Generals for four seasons, with collateral assignments as golf coach and physical education instructor.

Moore is a graduate of SUNY Brockport, where he was a four-year letter winner and a team captain. He graduated magna cum laude in 1983 with a bachelor of science degree in physical education and a concentration in coaching. In 1986, he received his master of arts in education from Mansfield University, also with a coaching concentration.

Moore has five children: Matthew, Nicholas, Grace, Alice and Patrick. Matt and Nick attend Fredonia State, and the former is a member of his father's team.
