Fredonia State Director of Athletics Greg Prechtl has announced the appointment of Michael Garger, left, as Head Coach of Track & Field and Cross Country. Garger is coming to Fredonia State from Geneseo High School, where he has built a cross country and girls’ track and field dynasty.

Nick Guarino claimed the men’s 1500-meter run on Saturday to claim his second national title of the year. He won the mile during the indoor season.

Fredonia State junior Nick Guarino will attempt to win his second national title this year after advancing to the finals of the 1500-meter run on Thursday. Fellow junior Kate Brett also competed, narrowly missing qualifying in the 400-meter hurdles.

FURMAN, GUARINO SET SCHOOL RECORDS AT ECAC MEET
Two Fredonia State outdoor records were broken by athletes competing at the ECAC Division III championship meet Thursday and Friday at Springfield College. The new record-holders are senior Sarah Furman and junior Nick Guarino.
