Head Coach Lorrie Corsi

Lorrie Corsi is starting his 15th season as Fredonia State head coach, the only head coach in program history. He became a two-time SUNYAC Coach of the Year following a record-setting 2004 season. Corsi received the 2004 award after guiding the Blue Devils to a 26-15 record, 15-8 against SUNYAC competition. Both 2004 win totals represent Fredonia State school records in softball.
He was also the 2000 SUNYAC Coach of the Year.
Corsi has coached the Blue Devils in all 14 seasons of their existence after coaching numerous amateur teams to championships. He has three 20-win seasons to his credit.
Corsi's softball background dates back to his playing days in the highly competitive Dunkirk Recreation Commission City League. He later coached youth teams in the Dunkirk Little League, including all-star teams which went on to local and regional success. In 1991, he coached Dunkirk Little League to an Eastern Regional title. He also has held coaching positions at Dunkirk High School and the former Cardinal Mindszenty High School in Dunkirk.
Corsi attended Fredonia State University prior to serving with the United States Army military police. He has served as the human resources director for the Fredonia State Faculty Student Association for 15 years.
He and his wife, Marian, have two grown daughters. Jo Lynne pitched collegiately at Alfred State and at SUNY Brockport, and is currently an assistant coach at Brockport. Jill is a Niagara University grad and works as a high school psychologist in Rome, N.Y.

Jerry Reilly is in his fourth season as assistant coach. He served as a volunteer assistant during the 2003-04 season, and has been the Fredonia State Sports Information Director since 2003.
He is a graduate of Cardinal Mindszenty High School and St. Bonaventure University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication. Following graduation, he worked at the Dunkirk Observer for 25 years in various capacities, including sports editor.
Reilly has served as a youth baseball and softball coach in the Dunkirk Little League, and as a baseball coach in the former Dunkirk Babe Ruth League.
He is a member of the Chautauqua Men’s Senior 25-and-Over Baseball League and has been a certified high school baseball umpire for 28 years in the Chautauqua County board. He is the board’s high school assignment secretary. He and with his wife, Tina, reside in Dunkirk and have four grown children.
Assistant Coach Bob Katta
Bob Katta joined the Blue Devil coaching staff prior to the start of the 2010 season. He will be in charge of the team's pitchers.
Katta comes to Fredonia State after a highly succcessful run at Dunkirk High School as an assistant coach specializing in pitching. He worked with the Marauders from 1995 through 2007, a stretch that include numerous league titles. Several players he mentored went on to play collegiately, including Casey Mazurek, who holds numerous Fredonia State pitching records. Katta was also a coach with the Chadwick Bay Bomber summer travel program.
In addition to coaching softball, Katta also coached football and golf at Dunkirk High. He also worked as a high school certified softball umper. He has played fast-pitch softball in local leagues and in regional tournaments for 25 years, mostly as a pitcher. He is employed as head groundskeeper in the Dunkirk City School District.
