Requirements for a B.A. Degree in Economics

Students majoring in Economics must complete 21 semester hours in core economics courses. These are:
  • ECON 200 Fundamentals of Statistics for Econ and Business
  • ECON 201 Principles of Microeconomics
  • ECON 202 Principles of Macroeconomics
  • ECON 300 Statistics for Economics and Business
  • ECON 305 Intermediate Microeconomic Theory
  • ECON 310 Intermediate Macroeconomic Theory
  • ECON 450 Senior Seminar
  • MATH 120 Survey of Calculus I
     or MATH 122 University Calculus I

Designed Field

In addition, with consultation and approval of the faculty advisor, the student must design a field of study which includes at least four Economics courses above ECON 300. Some recent designed fields include: Health Economics, Human Resource Economics, International Economic Policy, Environmental and Natural Resource Economics.
