OFFICE OF INSTITUTIONAL STUDIES

 

RICHARD R. NOTTE – DIRECTOR

 

 

 

MISSION

 

The Office of Institutional Studies defines as its mission the management of a program which identifies, collects, organizes, and maintains a wide range of institutional data. It develops and prepares statistical summary reports reflecting the current status as well as historical trends of various campus indicators in support of such farictions as academic program review, enrollment management, and institutional planning. The office provides interpretation and analysis of the data to serve as a basis for administrative decision making and policy determination at the State University College at Fredonia. It receives and transmits data and planning projections communicated between the College and the SUNY Office of Institutional Research and Planning.

 

GOAL

 

To evaluate how well the Office of Institutional Studies is meeting the informational needs of academic and administrative units (i.e., Vice Presidents, Deans, Directors, Department Chairs, etc).

 

MEASUREMENT

 

Through an interview process with heads of administrative and academic units and others who have need of quantative information to ascertain unmet data needs and enhancements to existing statistical profiles.

 

RESULTS

 

Preparation of list of identified informational needs resulting from campus interviews, assess production feasibility, and assign priority ranking by August, 1999.

 

FEEDBACK

 

In consultation with Information Technology Staff, establish parameters for data extracts, report formats and develop schedule for implementation. Incorporate new reports/ enhancements with existing program of annual report production.
