ASSESSMENT STATEMENT
SELF-IMPROVEMENT FOR OFFICE OF PHYSICAL FACILITIES
I. Mission
To provide a comprehensive service to the SUNY
Fredonia community which will provide a clean, safe and well-maintained
facility and physical plant, thereby allowing faculty, students and staff to
learn and work in a functionally attractive environment.
II. Goals
1. Replace
existing work order system.
2. Complete
replacement of high temperature hot water (HTHW) converters in three residence
halls and one academic building.
3. Complete the installation of phase 11 for
Symphony Circle and the Steele Hall parking lots.
III. Measure of Goals
1. Allow for a greater historic detail of staff
activity relative to routine maintenance and preventative maintenance. Provide
web access to the work order
system.
2. Replace
four existing HTHW converters which supply domestic hot water and domestic heat
to three individual residence halls and one academic building.
3. Increasing parking areas and access to
Symphony Circle area and Steele Hall area of campus.
IV.
Results
1. Tracking
staff activity will provide a management tool which will allow the
identification of repeat areas of repair sooner-, assure the completion
of preventative maintenance type activities; through web access allow for
easier access to a work order request by the campus
community.
2. Minimize
interruption of the service in providing domestic hot water and heat to three residence
halls and one academic building.
3. Symphony Circle - increase parking
areas closer to Rockefeller Arts Center, Maytum Hall and Thompson Hall. Replace
existing damaged concrete,
provide new concrete, introduce the use of pre-cast
pavers, granite curbing and new light poles which are attractive enhancements
to the main entrance of SUW Fredonia. These enhancements are also durable enough
to provide an area which will require minimal maintenance.
Steele Hall - provide replacement parking
(accommodate existing parking spaces which will be used by the natatorium,
approximately 80 spaces) and increase parking areas in general which are
adjacent to this area of the campus. The total number of spaces both lots will provide
are approximately 200.
V. Feedback into the Unit
1. Provide staff and campus community with the
results obtained from data collected.
2. Do we need to identify additional HTHW converters
which may become unreliable.
3. Comments
which may be collectively received from various campus constituents, which address
how well the locations of these parking lots provide access
to
campus facilities.
