Students outside the Williams Center The Williams Center

...is the centerpiece of the Fredonia campus and a hub for campus activities. The Williams Center provides students, staff, faculty, and the local community a location to participate in various social, academic, and culturally diverse activities. Events held in the Williams Center include, but are not limited to: lectures, banquets, comedians, and music performances. The building provides meeting space for campus organizations and is home to The Spot Game Room and the Campus Grind Coffeehouse.

  • The Campus Life Office, located on the first floor of the Williams Center, is responsible for Summer Orientation sessions for new freshmen, parents, and transfer students, Student Activities, University Room Reservations, Commencement, Leadership Development, and Volunteer Services. In addition, we offer guidance to student organizations planning events and negotiating performer contracts.

  • The Faculty Student Association (FSA) operates the Connections Food Court, located in the lower level, of the Williams Center, providing all the favorites in fast foods.

  • Several student organizations have offices within the Williams Center. The largest of these groups is the Student Association. The Student Association is the governing body for the 100 plus student organizations on campus. The Spectrum Entertainment Board is Fredonia's student-run activities board, presenting a diversified schedule of entertainment for the campus and community. Spectrum's office is located in the Campus Life Office. The Leader, Fredonia's campus newspaper, has its office on the second floor of the Williams Center.

  • SUNY Fredonia values and encourages religious diversity. There are many places of worship throughout the Dunkirk and Fredonia areas that welcome students. The SUNY Fredonia Campus Ministry Team provides spiritual counseling and special events throughout the year. A complete Directory of Places of Worship is availabe on line and in the Campus Life Office.

  • The Campus Life Office also provides an Off-Campus Living Guide for students looking for living options off-campus. This guide aids students with tips and services for prospective students looking to make their residence off-campus. Please note that Freshmen and Sophomores are required to live on campus.

IMPORTANT FREDONIA FEST 2009 INFORMATION

In an effort to keep the event safe for everyone, the following changes have been made for this year's Fredonia Fest.  The following information is provided so that everyone can be aware of the changes for this year's event:

This year the event will take place indoors in the Steele Hall Field House. The vending area, Dinosaur BBQ, and side attractions will be outdoors behind Steele Hall in tents. The festival will not begin until 3:00 p.m.

Everyone who enters the concert area will be required to have a ticket. Everyone attending must be 18 years of age or older with photo ID. Tickets will be distributed through the SUNY Fredonia Ticket Office in the Williams Center as follows on a first come-first served basis until sold out there are only 3500 tickets available in total:

April 1-30        Students may pick up 1 free ticket in person with their SUNY Fredonia photo ID. (While supplies last)

April 14-30      Students may purchase up to 3 tickets for guests with their SUNY Fredonia photo ID. - if available-  Guest tickets will cost $5.00 each.

April 21-30      Based on availability, SUNY Fredonia faculty and staff may purchase up to 2 tickets in person with SUNY Fredonia photo ID.  These tickets will cost $10.00 each.

April 21-30      Based on availability, SUNY Fredonia Alumni may purchase up to 2 tickets in person or via phone with the appropriate code.  These tickets will cost $10.00 each.  Alumni interested must first contact the office of Alumni Affairs to confirm their status and receive the code.

 No food or drink will be allowed to enter the event from outside sources. Food and drink will be provided through local vendors.

 University Police and other local law enforcement personnel will be checking both ID's and bags at the entrance.
