The Spot Game Room and Campus Grind
The Spot is a favorite place for students to relax between classes and at night. Located on the first floor of the Williams Center, The Spot consists of the Game Room and the Campus Grind coffeehouse.
If you enjoy cappuccinos, expressos, or lattés, then the Campus Grind is the place for you. Offering a wonderfully relaxing environment, this venue is a great place to gather with your friends during or at the end of a busy day. The Campus Grind serves a variety of pastries, cakes, and scones, which are baked fresh daily on campus. Stop in and enjoy a sandwich, soup, specialty coffee, or iced beverage, which are always featured on the menu. Students may use their meal plans to purchase food and drink items.
With its lounge type setting, just outside The Spot is The Spot Game Room complete with bubble hockey, video games, foosball table, and air hockey. Also available for signout is play station II, Guitar Hero (available with two guitars for competition), Dance Dance Revolution Super Nova, Karaoke, Bingo equipment and Wild Adventure Mini Golf Game. Contact Special Events Coordinator in the Campus Life Office to reseve this equipment.
One popular weekly event that takes place in The Spot on Wednesday evening is the Spectrum Entertainment Offbeat Music Series, featuring an eclectic genre of musical talent. In addition, lunchtime entertainment takes place between noon and 2 p.m. on select days. This series allows students to grab a bite to each and relax while listening to student performers as they showcase their original work. Other events such as Euchre and Texas Hold 'Em card tournaments, comedy shows, and poetry readings are featured throughout the semester.
