Because suicide is the third leading cause of death among 15 to 24-year-olds and the second major cause of death among college students, SUNY Fredonia student groups are sponsoring one of two dozen "Out of the Darkness Community Walks" being held around the nation this fall. The local 3 to 5-mile walk will be held Saturday, October 6 at the Community Picnic Grove on the corner of Brigham Road and Temple Street. Registration starts at 12:00 p.m. and the "Walk" will begin at 1:00 p.m. Walkers are asked to set a goal of raising $150 each, and those who raise higher amounts will be eligible for prizes. Register online...
All faculty, staff, students and community members are encouraged to participate in this important event. This event is sponsored by the Psychology Club, various student groups in conjunction with the Office of Volunteer and Community Services.
