"Do we have any HPLC-grade toluene?" "What should I do with this broken thermometer?" "Are we out of liquid nitrogen?" "Can I see the MSDS for 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine?" As the stores manager for the chemistry department, these are some of the questions that keep me on my toes, supplying the teaching and research labs with what is needed for day-to-day operations. I graduated from SUNY Fredonia with a degree in chemistry in secondary education, and I taught high school chemistry and math prior to my job here. Besides interactions with students and faculty, I enjoy working with purchasing, vendors, and maintenance people. I am enthusiastic about taking part in the computer revolution that is changing the way we access information, order supplies, and keep records. |
