Lisa's interest is in analytical and physical chemistry, and her main goal is to teach at the college level or enter the chemical industry after earning her Ph.D. at the University of Rochester in the fall. Lisa wants to instill an interest in chemistry to all learners through teaching, field trips and chemistry clubs. In the summer of 2003, Lisa did undergraduate research under the supervision of Dr. Sherri Mason and with the support of a Merck Research Fellowship grant. They attended a conference last fall in San Francisco, CA at the AGU (American Geophysical Union) meeting where Lisa presented her poster "Comparison and Validation of Biomass Burning Smoke Plume Models." Lisa was the recipient of the Dingledy Scholar Award in 2001 and the Thumm Analytical Chemistry award in 2003. Lisa was a tutor for chemistry at the Learning Center for three years, and also did some work as a private tutor in chemistry. Lisa's work experience also involves work at a hardware store and being a waitress. Lisa's other future plans include "having a constant named after me" and traveling to Australia.
Lisa is the recipient of the Gilbert and Ruth Moos Outstanding Senior Award for 2004.
