"I wanted to tell you that going to Fredonia and being part of the chemistry department was one of the best
decisions of my life. The faculty were all amazing and after the 3 years there I feel like I am significantly more prepared
for a career than anyone I met at UB. All the things I thought I would never see again are coming up in industry problems I
encounter and I am so thankful that I learned all I did and had such a wonderful research experience. Anyone I know going
into Chemistry I recommend to the program. I just wanted to thank you for all that you and the department did for me during
my time there and how much it was appreciated." - Alumni Kathy Lindstrom

The SUNY Fredonia Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is housed on the second floor of Houghton Hall (pictured above). The slideshow will give you an idea of our facilities
(on the serious side) and our students, faculty and staff (on a more comical
note). We have a wonderful department whose strengths include outstanding
teaching, active research and personal interactions between the students and
the faculty. In addition, we do like to have fun! (It's amazing what students
will do for a few extra points- and as to the faculty, well, they have no excuse!)
We hope you enjoy the slideshow, and please use the links on either side for
more information about our department!!!
