ITI (Intensive Teacher Institute) was created via a grant from the New York State Education Department (NYSED) to address the critical shortage of certified Bilingual and ESL teachers in New York State. Coordinated by the Bilingual Education Technical Assistance Center (BETAC) at Eastern Suffolk BOCES, ITI collaborates, with specific approval from NYSED, to assist participants in meeting certification requirements in the following areas: Bilingual and Bilingual Special Ed, ESL and ESL Special Education. Successful completion of SUNY Fredonia’s CAS ITI-TESOL program leads to certification in ESOL K-12.
