Introduction
Dr. Mira Tetkowski Berkley earned her Ph.D. in early childhood education from the University at Buffalo in 2000. She spent 15 years working with young children and their families in a variety of early childhood settings including public school kindergarten, a university demonstration child care program, a community mental health center preschool day treatment program and Head Start. Dr. Berkley's teaching experience in higher education includes 9 years at Jamestown Community College in the Human Services program before joining the Education faculty at SUNY Fredonia in 2000. Presently Dr. Berkley is Associate Professor and the coordinator of early childhood education in the College of Education at SUNY Fredonia. She teaches at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Dr. Berkley is currently the co-president of the New York State Association of Early Childhood Teacher Educators. She is a frequent presenter at local, state and national early childhood conferences.Research Interests or Expertise
