COMTEP welcomes you to its home page. We represent community colleges and four year college and university programs designed to prepare students for certification to teach music in the public and private schools of New York State. The purpose of this page is to provide information concerning member schools and members, information concerning preparation for music teaching at all levels, general issues of importance to music education (including issues of certification, funding, and budgets), and links to state agencies and other music organizations.
