Then come on out for FREDONIA HERO! And see who gets crowned Fredonia’s Guitar Hero champions!
As judged by a celebrity panel that includes:
- Vicarious Visions CEO Karthik Bala, our 2011 Maytum Convocation Series Keynote Speaker
- School of Music Distinguished Professor of Guitar Jim Piorkowski
- SUNY Fredonia President Dennis Hefner
When: Wednesday, Sept. 14, at 7 p.m.
Where: Dods Hall, Multipurpose Room
Here’s how it all works:
- Find four friends.
- Form a band.
- Make up a name — a cool one, man!
Enter your four-person band by contacting the Public Relations Office at 673-3323 or public.relations@fredonia.edu by Tuesday, Sept. 13 at 5 p.m.
Only 10 bands can enter -- first come, first rocks! (We’ll keep a waiting list in case of cancellations.)
Pick a song from the “Guitar Hero 5” game title.
One song per band. No two bands will perform the same track.

This contest is opened to current SUNY Fredonia students only, but “groupies” (audience members) are welcomed from anywhere. The event is free for both band participants and audience attendees.
Prizes:
Prizes will be given to the top three acts as determined by the scores earned on the gaming system – PLUS the judges’ scores for appearance, showmanship, and creativity.
So get the band back together.
Dust off those amps.
Hire a few roadies.
You’re about to make the big time.
