An array of original, diverse works choreographed by faculty members and guest artists will thrill in this annual concert featuring Fredonia's talented dancers. Artistic Director Helen Myers' work, inspired by the famous pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela, Spain is set to ancient, rare music performed live by Fredonia's Chamber Choir directed by Gerald Gray. Sam Kenney explores Philip Glass' "Orion" series with a fast-paced contemporary dance. Angelika Summerton presents a comedic work with commercial advertising music, while Jon Lehrer thrills with another jaw-dropping athletic spectacle. Guest artists include Minneapolis-based Rosy Simas and Western New York-based Terry Beck and Kerry Ring.

David Rudge, conductor. The College Symphony concert will feature the 3rd Symphony of Johannes Brahms, one of the great masterworks of the symphonic literature. Also highlighted are two winners of the Fredonia School of Music's annual Concerto Competition, Margaret Van Norden, soprano and Callen Lange, pianist. The program will conclude with the stylish and rarely heard "Vienna Jubilee" Overture by von Suppe. Free.

In a long standing tradition, the School of Music spends the afternoon on the last day of classes in an Awards Convocation. It is an opportunity for the School of Music as a whole to come together to celebrate the outstanding work of our students in performance, academics, service and other achievement. Many of the awards are made possible by our many friends and donors, so the awards take many forms, from handshakes to certificates to actual checks. Short performances by our exceptional students punctuate the ceremony. Free.
