Our department has been providing quality and comprehensive educational opportunities since 1963.  We are one of only two departments in SUNY that offer both Geochemistry and Geophysics degree programs -- in addition to Geology, Earth Science, and Adolescence Earth Science Education.

Bancroft, Canada Mineralogy TripGeologists are employed in a variety of settings, including environmental sciences, petroleum and base-metal exploration, civil engineering, information science, urban planning, and other areas. Opportunities also exist in education and with government agencies.  Opportunities for employment in the Geosciences have never been better, given current economic and environmental realities.
