Portrait of an American Artist

The Life and Work of Carl J. Nordell

 June 19 through June 26, 2004

On Saturday, June 19th 2004, an opening reception kicked-off a fund raising exhibit to benefit the Michael C. Rockefeller Arts Center Art Gallery. Carl J. Nordell was an American Impressionist artist of national recognition who resided in Chautauqua County during the 1930s and 40s. Local art collectors loaned their paintings and etchings to make this a spectacular display of Nordell's work. Reception participants enjoyed a spirited display of the artist's work and also received a complimentary copy of Carl J. Nordell's biography: Portrait of an American Artist written by the Art Gallery Director, June Miller-Spann.
