Fredonia allow students to investigate problems pertinent to society. SUNY Fredonia
offers students desiring to study the environment several options. For those wanting
to major in environmental sciences, Fredonia offers an interdisciplinary B.S. degree that
is jointly sponsored by the departments of biology, chemistry, and geosciences. This
curriculum provides a wealth of experience combined with rigorous coursework that prepares
our students for graduate studies or employment in the public or private sector. For
those desiring a traditional major, one can pursue various environmental options and
courses while obtaining majors in biology, chemistry, economics, geosciences, or political

pFredonia undergraduates conduct research on inland lakes and Lake Erie
using the ES boat Blue Devil. Students use
an atomic absorption spectrophotometer to identify environmental pollutants.
