Students in Professor Pat Astry's "Introduction to Clinical Sciences" course have developed three projects to celebrate National Medical Laboratory Professionals Week and are disseminating  information about the medical laboratory, diagnostic testing and the career of medical technology.

The week is observed nationally from April 18-24, and the students are conducting most of their group work over the next two weeks at SUNY Fredonia. The official kick-off was with Dr. Jeffrey DuBois’ presentation on Friday, April 16 in Jewett Hall.

The projects include:

  • Tuesday, April 20 – Evening Open House, Jewett 101. Students from campus, local H.S. and the public have been invited. Powerpoint presentation, refreshments and prizes.
  • Wednesday afternoon, April 21 – Balloon game next to Cranston Marche. Q&A with prizes.
  • Week of April 25 - Information dissemination to 6 local High schools. Students are taking posters and brochures and talking with guidance counselors and science teachers.
