There are many science centered events going on during Homecoming this year.  All are invited.

Thursday September 27, 2012 

12:30-1:30  Dr. Gregory Roth     Developing effective interview skills: Tips and advice
Houghton 224
Dr. Roth is the Director of Medicinal Chemistry and an Associate Professor in the Diabetes and Obesity Research Center, Cardiovascular Pathobiology Program at the Sanford/Burnham Medical Research Institute.  Dr. Roth is an alumni of the Department of Chemistry earning a B.S degree in 1979 and a M.S degree in 1984.

5:00-6:00  Dr. Gregory Roth    Novel Synthetic Approaches toward Natural Product Synthesis
Jewett 101 
Dr. Roth’s current work centers on the discovery of new chemical 'tools' in the areas of chemical biology and medicinal chemistry designed to answer significant biochemical questions in disease areas of unmet medical need.

4:00-5:00  Dr. Dennis Thiele  The Biology of Copper: From Mammalian Development to Anti-Microbial Weapon

Dr. Thiele is the George Barth Geller Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Cancer Biology At Duke University's School of Medicine.  Dr. Thiele is also the recipient of an Outstanding Alumni Achievement Award from the College this Homecoming.

1:00-5:30  Fredonia Science Alumni Conference  Alumni for all science disciplines are presenting on their research and careers.  Williams Center S-204.
