Tony Lake is Offered Two NSF Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) this Summer (March 2013)

Junior Tony Lake applied to several NSF REU programs and was offered positions at both Georgetown University and Loyola University. He has decided to accept the Georgetown position and is off to Washington in May. Tony, a native of Athens PA, is dual chemistry/biology major, a recitation teaching assistant for Organic Chemistry and a microbiology lab prep student. In addition, Tony is doing research with Dr. Gronquist and is active in Chem Club. Tony is a Student Leader with the Faculty Student Association. Anthony Lake

Melissa Shively is Off to UB to Study this Summer (May 2013)

Melissa is a sophomore biochemistry major who will be working with Dr, Janet Morrow at the REU program at the University at Buffalo. Melissa is from Canandaigua NY and is an RA in Hemmingway Hall. Melissa is a Kaminski Scholar which means she was one of the top applicants to our program when she applied as a freshman and has continued to demonstrate outstanding progress on her degree. She is currently doing genetics research with Dr. Ferguson and she will be working with Dr Fountain in the fall. Melissa Shively

  David Butzer Is Offered a Position at the University of Buffalo

  REU (May 2013)

David is a junior dual chemistry/ geochemistry major who has been doing research with Dr. Milligan.  David has also been President of Chemistry Club and a tutor in the Learning Center.   David has been part of a dedicated group of students who have been very active supporting departmental activities such as open houses and the Science Alumni Conference.  Dave has not yet chosen who he wants to work with at UB but is interested in organic, analytical or physical chemistry research projects.  David is from Collins NY David Butzer
